No bank account, credit card, debit card or money required! We will then be able to use our fake KDA to send between each other to serve as an example of the steps used to transact with the X-wallet and other users. More on that later, first let's get set up.</p>
<p>Go to: https://xwallet.kaddex.com/</p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1661818482255/4Qmf_EmLD.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-08-29 at 8.14.23 PM.png" /></p>
<p>Click 'Download'</p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1661818587169/xSVYdh8T9.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-08-29 at 8.16.13 PM.png" /></p>
<p>For the purposes of this tutorial you should be using either Chrome or Brave as your browser so select the correct option under 'Desktop'.</p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1661818661263/w1DSpIx9U.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-08-29 at 8.17.31 PM.png" /></p>
<p>You'll be redirected to the Chrome Web Store where you will click 'Add to Brave' or 'Add to Chrome' and follow the instructions to install the extension. Once it's complete, a new tab will open in the browser similar to the image below. </p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1661818820190/367yIdZSp.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-08-29 at 8.20.10 PM.png" /></p>
<p>If during these next few steps you accidentally close this tab or if for whatever reason this tab does not automatically open for you, you can simply open the extension in the browser and follow along as it is the same. </p>
<p>To follow along in the extension, click the puzzle piece in the top right corner of your browser window to expand the drop down of all your extensions. Scroll down to X-wallet and click the pin to the right of it so that X-wallet now appears near that puzzle piece on your browser. This way it is easier to get to. Then, you can simply click on the X-wallet icon on your browser to open the extension. </p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1661819376708/mmdtO0EGW.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-08-29 at 8.27.22 PM.png" /></p>
<p>Let's continue; either in the tab or in your extension, click 'Start Now'</p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1661818883233/sjncCAHsG.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-08-29 at 8.21.04 PM.png" /></p>
<p>Click 'Next'</p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1661818944323/bEa4XnpVP.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-08-29 at 8.21.42 PM.png" /></p>
<p>Click the checkbox to agree to the Terms of Use and select 'Create New Wallet'</p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1661818971488/jMf4_Z5oH.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-08-29 at 8.22.37 PM.png" /></p>
<p>You will be prompted to create a password. Afterwards click 'Create'</p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1661819118781/gVl8ijPQ0.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-08-29 at 8.25.02 PM.png" /></p>
<p>This next step is very important. You are about to be given a Secret Recovery Phrase which is a combination of 12 random words. This secret phrase serves as a secure password to your wallet/account. The exact words, in their exact order needs to be maintained. It is good practice to write this down somewhere safe, preferably with pen and paper, as opposed to a screenshot on your computer. If you lose this you will lose access to your wallet. There is no customer service number to call or no forgot password procedure. </p>
<p>Click the checkbox and hit 'Continue'</p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1661819908167/vgdMnOtk0.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-08-29 at 8.37.41 PM.png" /></p>
<p>You can click to reveal the secret phrase and write it down somewhere or click the download button and you will save a text file with your recovery phrase (aka seed phrase). It's normally good practice to delete the text file if you decide to download it, after you have written down your phrase. When you are ready, click 'Continue'</p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1661820020482/hAITJxIbo.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-08-29 at 8.40.10 PM.png" /></p>
<p>You will now be prompted to input the phrase, word by word for confirmation. Then 'Continue'</p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1661820176577/kjfV50Kbq.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-08-29 at 8.42.12 PM.png" /></p>
<p>You should be reverted back to a page to input the password you created and be able to sign in. Now would be a good time to pop open the extension if you had been following along in the browser tab. You will see the content is the same. </p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1661820320705/V-D1DEskK.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-08-29 at 8.43.57 PM.png" /></p>
<p>You've successfully created a new account to start receiving crypto currency on the Kadena blockchain. Now what we want to do is get a test version of some KDA coin to be able to experiment with without having to spend any actual real money. Let's continue.</p>
<p>To get some test KDA we need to interact with a faucet. A faucet in Web3 is usually a website where you can provide your account number and receive a test version of that faucet's specific token. </p>
<p>Go to: https://faucet.testnet.chainweb.com/</p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1662052888602/3DcfhZLeB.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-09-01 at 1.20.35 PM.png" /></p>
<p>We want to select 'Create and Fund New Account'.</p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1662078361915/Lu9ZnBQNo.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-09-01 at 8.25.33 PM.png" /></p>
<p>Now we want to provide our account number, which the Kadena Blockchain tends to reference as the Account Name. To find that, click on the X-wallet extension up in the top right of your browser.</p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1662053177806/DVGzPsVrL.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-09-01 at 1.24.22 PM.png" /></p>
<p>We need to do a few things here. First, click the drop down that says 'Mainnet' and select 'Testnet'.</p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1662055727311/58SjcvJqF.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-09-01 at 2.08.27 PM.png" /></p>
<p>Then, in the drop down that says 'Chain ID 0', change that to 'Chain 1'.</p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1662055928217/vC_LGm6BC.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-09-01 at 2.11.27 PM.png" /></p>
<p>Now we want to copy our Account Name, which you will see listed just to the left of the Chain ID. Click the 'copy' icon to copy it to your clipboard.</p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1662056062887/Ziv6MfFPD.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-09-01 at 2.12.34 PM.png" /></p>
<p>Return to the faucet page and now paste your Account Name in the input that is asking for your 'Public Key'. There is an extra step here we must do; scroll to the beginning of the Account Name that you just pasted and you will see that it starts with 'k:'. We need to delete the 'k:' at the start of your Account Name. You'll notice that once you do so the plus sign to the right of the input is now clickable. </p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1662078789227/CAWVDkBke.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-09-01 at 8.29.34 PM.png" /></p>
<p>After clicking the plus button to add our public key you should see something similar to the image below.</p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1662078832737/JhqRbxmUc.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-09-01 at 8.32.55 PM.png" /></p>
<p>Now for Account Name, you can simply paste the Account Name you had copied from X-wallet in it's entirety, including the 'k:' at the beginning. Click 'Create and Fund Account'.</p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1662078925817/mD92xG5lP.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-09-01 at 8.35.01 PM.png" /></p>
<p>I failed to get proper screenshots of the following but essentially a small box will appear underneath the Create and Fund Account button that says 'Your Request Key' and a transaction hash below it followed by a button that says 'Check Request Status'. By clicking that, you will get information on this transaction. It can take a few minutes for the transaction to be completed but when it does the notification will be similar to the image below:</p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1662079152597/-tO70dI7G.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-09-01 at 8.24.04 PM.png" /></p>
<p>You can confirm receipt of your testnet KDA by opening the X-wallet extension in your browser and seeing the 20 KDA in your account!</p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1662079217982/vWszRNUQW.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-09-01 at 8.39.52 PM.png" /></p>
<p>Technically, we are done, you should have 20 KDA for testing purposes, HOWEVER, now that our account is created, if you ever needed more than the 20 KDA you currently have these next few steps ought to solve that. The following is only for extra testnet KDA and is worth knowing although not required. </p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1662079430292/fD0_LlUgK.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-09-01 at 1.20.35 PM.png" /></p>
<p>So if we ever need more KDA, when we return to the faucet page, since we now have a created and initially funded account, from now on you can select 'Add Funds to Existing Account'.</p>
<p><img src="https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1662079496602/YT92drJAJ.png" alt="Screen Shot 2022-09-01 at 2.15.00 PM.png" /></p>
<p>Simply paste your Account Name in the Account Name input (yes, with the 'k:' in the beginning) and click 'Fund Account 20 Coins'. That's it. </p>
